Meet Zakiya

Hi, I’m Zakiya – a Registered Acupuncturist at Lynn Valley Massage Therapy in North Vancouver, BC.

I believe in a holistic approach to health and well-being. My path to acupuncture began as a patient, navigating my own health journey after suffering a severe concussion. The profound relief I found from acupuncture opened my eyes to the power of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the importance of healing the body from within.

I practice a gentle style of acupuncture while aiming to foster a calm and safe environment for my patients. My goal is to work with every patient to uncover the root cause of their concern and restore balance to help you feel your best. In addition to acupuncture, I use a variety of therapies to promote healing including fire cupping, gua sha, and auricular acupuncture.

In my spare time, you can find me hiking with my dog Luna, skiing on the North Shore mountains, testing new recipes in the kitchen, or in an early morning Pilates class.

Treatment Approach

Zakiya provides tailored acupuncture treatments to address your unique concerns. She believes it is important for patients to be involved in their wellness journey and focuses on a collaborative, patient-centred approach when delivering care.

During your treatment session, Zakiya will ask you about your goals, review your health history, and discuss the treatment plan for the session. With your consent, she will then use a variety of Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities to address your concerns and send you home with recommendations to support your continued healing.

  • "I am very pleased and appreciative with the acupuncture services of Zakiya Pirani. Zakiya calmly listens to what my body is feeling, then asks me a couple of specific questions, followed by a concise suggestion of how we might proceed in our session together. This approach has continuously provided me with healing, having me walking out of the session with improved movement and comfort, that continues in the days and weeks come, as I continue to heal."
